In 1990, brothers, Brad and Dick Lazzara, founded Lazzara Custom Yachts in Tampa, Florida. The family-owned business has over 50 years of boat building experience dating back to 1955 when Vince Lazzara, a sea-loving chemical engineer, built himself a 40’ sailboat in conjunction with AeroMarine. The boat was manufactured using fiberglass applications that Vince pioneered himself.
Vince started Columbia Yachts in 1960, producing his own line of fiberglass sailboats. After a few years of perfecting design, Columbia Yachts grew to be a worldwide manufacturer of fiberglass sailboats.
Vince sold Columbia Yachts in 1967 and relocated to Florida where he founded Gulfstar Yachts in the early 1970’s. The company underwent some hardships before Lazzara began producing high quality, high-performance motor yachts. By the 1980’s Lazzara’s sons, Brad and Dick, joined the family business.
Lazzara’s sons left their father’s business and started their own company in 1990 – Lazzara Yacht Corporation, which focuses on powerboat and custom yacht design. The first launch was the Lazzara 76 in 1992. Lazzara Yacht Corporation is an industry leader in innovation, quality, and style, winning awards for innovative design and patented processes. Lazzara’s fleet ranges from 75 to 94 feet.
